Compensation from Bosch for inaccurate manual?

You went to all that trouble to turn off the "beep" noise at the end of the programme?2

If you provide the model number someone might be able to help in turning of the "beep". If it is possible to do so.

Apparently so. I quite like the end of programme beep our old machine emits, it's a useful reminder to unload the washing.Manxman_in_exile said:You went to all that trouble to turn off the "beep" noise at the end of the programme?
Given that the machine was fully functional and disabling the 'beep' was effectively customisation to suit the OP, it's a miracle Bosch went as far as they did. Sending engineers out and so on when there isn't anything mechanically wrong and offering the £30 into the bargain is really going beyond what they need to do. Grab the offer with both hands.

Well quite. I find it useful too.
(We have a Bosch and on checking the manual I'm amazed to see that it can be turned off. I wonder if I should try following the instructions in the manual to see if they work - and if they don't try claiming from Bosch? And if the instructions do work I can complain that I'm no longer reminded to take the washing out and it goes all horrible and musty smelling?)0 -

For the record, my old Bosch beeped once and shut up, but the new model keeps going. Even the engineer agreed it was annoying. When the machine is in an open plan kitchen that is still doubling up as my office, it's quite understandable that I wanted to turn it off and the manual clearly states there is an option to do so, it's just that the instructions were incorrect. The point of my post was to ask (I thought friendly people) advice on what they thought. All I've had is a lot of rudeness on my first ever post, which I now wish I could delete, but it doesn't look as if I can, so I will just unsubscibe instead.0 -
It has been sorted now. We tried asking on various forums and looking on YouTube before we went back to the manufacturer as a last resort. Thank you though for your nice response. Some others are not being very kind on this thread.oldagetraveller1 said:If you provide the model number someone might be able to help in turning of the "beep". If it is possible to do so.0 -
I haven't seen many unkind responses, mainly sensible ones. If you have suffered a loss such as the cost of phone calls to resolve it then it gives you grounds to argue for compensation.LisaAR said:
