Personally would want the dishwasher beside the sink else its much messier to fill it.
Have you thought what's going to go where? What works well in each kitchen depends very much on what you own, how you cook etc. If you're the sort to keep 30 different types of pasta in stock at all times a single pantry unit may not be sufficient/practical1 -
Thank you everyone. The dishwasher location also bothers me (along with losing the corner space)
I’ve got a few options and thoughts to consider and will go back to the designer. Very helpful.0 -
It's a similar width to our kitchen - ours is 3.48m, but the cabinets are 690mm deep. We have 950mm to the stool side of the island, and 950mm from the island to the ovens/hob. We don't have any issue moving around the kitchen while cooking, sitting etc. Our island is where all the cooking prep and baking happens - just not enough counter space without it.Our dishwasher is to the left of the sink - we did keep 1200mm from this to the start of the island which is essential for loading/unloading the dishwasher. I would really look to relocate your dryer somewhere else if possible, looks really awkward as drawn - we're lucky to have a utility room to stick our cheaper non integrated washing machine and dryer in.
I think you'll need to adjust the right hand side of the kitchen window, it doesn't look like the high level cabinet will fit there.3 -

it does look tight by the window granted but we have cupboards there now and they’re fine thankfully.1 -

We've been doing backwards and forwards on if to keep our freestanding items what will look similar to yours in situ or replace them with integrated units but unless I sell both kidneys it means a sleeker look but much smaller space inside the devices. If you pay the price of a small car you can get integrated units that have the same capacity as freestanding but have better things to spend the money on and theres some silly law about not being allowed to sell your organs.0 -
I think you need to do two things
1. Draw out a floor plan of the kitchen, I did mine in excel and every square was 10cm2, like this.2. The second thing I did was mark everything out on the floor in masking tape, so that I could see if it worked / get used to it.
I think your space is too small for what you're looking for, unfortunately, if you want an island, you're going to have to make the kitchen bigger.
