CHEQUE MADE PAYABLE TO EXECUTORS OF ??????

Same as spaceace & galeSF63, I'd opened a personal a/c in Lloyds (already my own bank) specifically to deal with estate income/expenditure, they paid in a cheque made out to the Executors for the estate of Fred Bloggs. Was only for a few hundred though.
PS Forgot, the solicitor handling the probate house sale had everything signed by both executors, but didn't bat an eyelid at paying £240k by bank trans into an account in the name of only ONE of them.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
2 weeks ago we received a cheque payable to the executors XX
I just used the app to pay it into my mums account HSBC, it cleared within a few days. This was for a small amount though

If the bank notices the discrepancy between the account holder and the cheque payee. The cheque will be "bounced".Polarpenguin said:2 weeks ago we received a cheque payable to the executors XX
