you could ask your bank to open an executors account - asuming you are an executor

Open an executors account - and use it to hold these monies.

As other replies. You might have to open the account with your own bank, I know from experience.
I have an account that was initially an Executor Account. "The Executors of xxxxx Deceased", with Lloyds.
It is still in operation with the same account name but Lloyds eventually changed it to a standard current account.
It did require presenting, in person in branch, my identification, a copy of the will naming me as Executor, copy of Death Certificate and Grant of Probate.
The first question when I enquired was "Do you have an existing account with us?"

Ask them to pay each beneficiary out separately. If they have been dealing with it.

Possibly, but it's usually easier to increase the size of the text, which works with the lower-case replies as well.

Not the responsibility of the solicitors if they aren't legally appointed executors.

It's been a few years so things might have changed but we had this situation with one cheque when dealing with my father-in-laws estate.  We didn't have an executor account and they refused to reissue the cheque in the name of the executor

We went to our bank with the cheque and the letter of administration and they accepted the cheque into a personal account in the executor's name.

As I say, things might have changed but it might be worth the executor talking to their bank before going through the process of opening a new account.

Same here - I took the grant of probate and/or the will to the bank and they paid the cheque into my personal account.  It was quite a small amount of money though.
    It was TSB.
It was also a few years ago.
