Thanks the surveyor said that they hadn’t seen any evidence of flooding and they queried our neighbors dump roof membrane or lack of it and also the threshold to the annex door is also too low they thought our drive might have been put in to high however we have photographic evidence that this is not the case they also asked that we put in echo drain This was put in 9years ago we were also blamed for their gate post rotting the surveyor was overheard saying well gate posts do rot but it hadn’t done badly as was put in in2006!!
Your neighbours are chancers and just desserts are in order. Karma will prevail.

If Im reading this right, your neighbours complained at the time of the installation, they asked for Aco drains to be put in, which you complied with and then 9 years later they are making a claim against you?

I wouldn't worry yourself. Sounds speculative at best. Even if they were able to prove your drains had caused damage, they've been negligent in leaving it so long before taking action or making you aware that there is an ongoing problem.

Isn't it a pity that the OP cannot trade places with the @Whiterose23 's neighbour. Then the couple on the make really would have cause for complaint.

I've found my true calling in life, a matching agency for people with problem neighbours :D

Just a thought but could Mopalop make a counter claim for expenses incurred due to the neighbour starting at a legal standpoint before consulting them resulting in Mopalop having to employ a solicitor?
Even a small return to cover expenses would teach a lesson and lessen the shock.

I agree they have been absolutely awful it’s not just the legal bit they are constantly monitoring what we are doing we can’t even go out in our garden without them watching us  they have even moaned about us washing the car !
But the best moan was about another neighbour she complained that the other neighbour whilst watering their own garden got water on their conservatory and made it leak 🤣🤣 what she failed to say was for years she had been throwing neat bleach out the bedroom window to clean it !!
