It's not because they are a crock of s**t.
They obviously manage to get them and sell them without any hard sell from salesmen.1 -
Main dealers don't tend to buy at auction. They don't need to. They get first pick of the cars coming off finance. Obvs, all the manufacturer finance, but also some of the larger third-party financiers will have deals direct with the manufacturer.
Yes, there's perfectly good cars that come off other financiers' fleets which may well go straight to auction rather than through the dealer chain.
But then there's the ones that dealers put out to auction because they've been rejected from the AUC schemes, because they don't have full service history or because of damage or because of problems...

If you want an automatic Ford go to the dealers and ask if they have any ex-motability cars due in. they are usually 3 years old with full history and most are well looked after. Garages often sell them without doing anything to them so prices are fair.1

Used FOW for my last 2 cars. The process is so much nicer than conventional car dealers. I’ve found the prices to be competitive and would and have highly recommended to friends and family.Recently they accepted my credit card for a £2000 deposit. I’m not sure if I could have paid the full balance on credit card as didn’t ask.The car I bought was ex motability from Ireland.1

For a 2-3yo car, the main question has to be why it's not being retailed by a dealer as a manufacturer approved-used...?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.1 -

For a 2-3yo car, the main question has to be why it's not being retailed by a dealer as a manufacturer approved-used...?‘Fords of Winsford’ have been flogging cars under that name for many decades,...back to the 60’s at least. ‘Ford’ is merely the family name.
It was originally operated from a dairy farm;...I actually went there many years ago when it was still a working farm. I accompanied my mate who was desperate to buy a 2000E (that’ll take a few of you back!) as he was convinced it was the best fanny-magnet he could buy with his limited budget.
He eventually bought a 1600E. 😁

If my surname was Ford, I would be entitled to use my name in any capacity provided I did not use any registered design or trademark. The fact they call themselves Fords of Winsford is clarification.1 -
