I was talking specifically, in that instance about very old drivers (the discussion point in hand), and what happens to your reaction times / ability to process information

Motor insurance increases once you pass 70 years old.
I believe I was a better driver when I was 40/50 years old, compared to 60.
Yes, i can feel my reaction times slowing down now (53), compared to where i'd have been even a number of years ago.  Expecting it to get worse.

Still a PetrolHead though.  Will enjoy cars while i can :)

I'm 54 and no slowing down of reactions here, probably helped by the fact I still drive like a flipping nut every day.
My lap-times on motorbikes aren't significantly slower than 25 years ago either.
Bimbling along just isn't in my nature. I dread the day it becomes so but I still treat every driver in front of me as an inconvenience (god I miss lockdown....)
I'd still give up road driving if I could though.

  • My OH reckons I drive like I ride which is puzzling as she's never been on the back of me but just because she doesn't know how to hit an apex doesn't mean I don't know how to
