Rejecting a used car?

So I purchased a used car from a well known UK garage approx 7 days ago. The deal was done over the phone without me physically seeing the car. I paid a holding deposit and a few days later paid the balance in full. The day before collection I was sent a thank you video from the garage ( in the heavy rain ) showing me around the car. In the video the sales guy described the car as “mint”. Upon collecting the car a few days later from stansted airport ( I’m based in Edinburgh ) I found the front wheel to be curbed, front tyres not far from legal limit. When I got home and washed the car as it arrived filthy, i found the front end - mainly bonnet and bumper covered in between 10-20 stone chips. The car is a 2019 reg with 11.5k miles. The sales guy and managers weren’t interested in my complaint so I escalated it to the head of business.. he didn’t offer anything for the tyres as they are legal barely, I stupidly accepted £50 for the wheel damage which i still haven’t received.. the main issue is the amount of front end stone chips on the car. He offered a chips away repair which I refused as it will make it look worse than better, esp on the bonnet. I’ve sent him over a quote from a body shop to have the front end repaired and await his reply. The quote is £915 - is it unreasonable to expect them to pay this? The car was mis sold to me and on this basis I’d either like it repaired to a good level or plan to reject the car within the first 30 days.. this dealership seem to have a history of doing this to other customers

If you reject the car I believe  you have to return it to the dealership.

That is not going to be cheap if it has to go Stanstead.

Did you do any paperwork when you collected the car?
If not, the remote purchase rules may apply.

Otherwise, you are into the general rules for rejecting a car:

What is so exceptional about this car that, from Edinburgh, you had to pick a car in Stanstead?  Given the rarity that must apply, getting the bonnet repair done may be the best route as it will be hard to find another of the same make, model, etc.

    Never filled out any paperwork,
Car was priced right and spec was good.
My first port of call is to have the car repaired to a good standard as it should have been when I collected it - failing this, I’ll be rejecting the vehicle based on it being described as “mint”. I accept some wear and tear is to be expected but the sales
    guy outright lied to me..

But they didn't describe it as mint until after you had already fully agreed to the sale, how was it described to you before you made the purchase?

Why is it that nearly all the posts regarding faulty used cars are from people buying cars unseen from the other ends of the country? Genuine question, are used cars so rare at the moment that it's so difficult to get them locally?

Who's this "well known UK garage" that you've got to travel across the country to get a car from? Do they not have car dealers in Scotland?

Why did you not fully inspect the car when you picked it up? It's entirely reasonable to expect a used car to have some stone chips and tbh, dirty or not these could quite easily been picked up on when you collected the car.

OP can I ask a question, why buy a car from so far away and did you do some research into what you do if you were to reject the car ? As mentioned you have to take the car back to the seller.
