eBay and Working Tax Credits

I am currently getting pip and will be working part time 12 hours a week soon with an employer.
I have been selling on ebay on and off for years I was wondering if I was to do this on a more regular basis say 4 hours a week this brings my total working hours to 16 then would I be able to claim working tax credit and would tax credit people accept this as work?

You can't claim tax credits anymore, it would be Universal Credit and your hours are irrelevant as it's calculated on your actual income received.

Accoring to a previous thread you're claiming ESA. If this is still correct then providing you work less than 16 hours and earn no more than £143 per week, then you can do permitted work. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/employment-and-support-allowance-permitted-work-form/permitted-work-factsheetDo be aware, that if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming ESA then it could prompt a re-assessment and the decision could go against you.If you work 16 hours and over then your ESA will end.If you claimed UC within 1 month of your ESA ending then if you're in the Support Group you will be placed into the LCWRA group for UC and will receive the extra £343 per week in with your maximum UC entitlement.

We already claim child tax credits so shouldn't have to transfer to universal credit to get working tax credit added on.
I dont get esa no more get pip though
So back to my question can I do 4 hours of ebay a week to bring my hours upto 16 hours?0 -

You are correct that if you already get Child Tax Credits you can get Working tax Credits added if you meet the qualifying conditions.
I don't know whether selling on eBay will count as self employed work.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
