    OP
if you are considering doing a chargeback as suggested above, here is a MSE article on chargebacks and Section 75 that you might find useful - either for now or in the future.

First of all I'd speak to your card issuer about performing a chargeback. See https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/how-do-i-use-chargeback-abZ2d4z3nT8q

It may work, or the retailer may try to dispute it, but you have nothing to lose.
Thank you for this. There has been a development. I told them I plan to do the Charge Back and they have now offered me 60% compensation. I have accepted this providing I get my refund and will put the wig on ebay so hopefully get a few bob for it.

    So thanks again.

If this had been a UK purchase then yes you would have rights to a refund if supplied goods are not as described.
does it help the OP that their terms and conditions state "These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of UK."

They never came back with the money so I did the Chargeback thing. I couldn't get on with the online form so rang them.  A very helpful man went through it and agreed the payment back to me, it is in my account now.  All done very quickly.

    Thanks again

If you read the link in my post up-thread:

Warning. Money refunded via chargeback can be 'clawed back'

Chargeback can be a very effective way of getting a refund - yet it is important to understand that, in practice, you are disputing a payment.

And that means the firm which you are depriving of your payment has an opportunity to dispute what you're doing and "clawback" the payment.

But they sound a sloppy operation so probably won't bother disputing it.

Yes aware of this, not a lot of money and worth a try. I have experience of "clawback" when I claimed thru credit card last year, my cancelled holiday. I was awarded the money.....eventually, only for them to take it back later. It has since been settled in my favour.
