Question. Why is this scenario "legal" and not a crime.. Baffled??

Thank you for replying.  I did a SAR request and they sent me several photos and correspondence PDFs.

They have also included them in their WS.

I did not know you could check on their website.   Is it under the MY PCN section?    I did try typing my serial (PCN code?) and registration, but nothing came up.  I wonder if the service is removed once the PPC start using the courts to collect their booty?

Sometimes they remove access to it if the charge is farmed out to debt collectors (but I don't think that is the case here?).  Is there a 'Pay my PCN' (or similarly worded) portal, if so try that, but I'd imagine they would have included all photos in their SAR response.  If they were to magic up some others in the court process, you would have legitimate grounds to complain to the court as well as to the ICO.

Thank you.  Sadly I have tried loads of combinations with my details and nothing comes up.

This is the information from their website - just in case someone else needs to check their PCN.

Case Dismissed.    Yaaay.   I have just had my confirmation letter through the post.  The baseless and, in my opinion, vexatious, case brought by Excel Parking Services Ltd was dismissed by a well-informed circuit judge. Although I still had to go through the court process via video link.

BUT I feel really grubby and I would go as far as to say violated by the experience.  Did anyone else feel like this – even after they “won”?

I found the templates and the NEWBIE sticky boards absolutely essential reading and to guide me through the system.  Thank you so much and I recommend anyone with any parking issues to read the NEWBIE sticky boards first. 

Original ticket was placed on my windscreen in 2015.

Well done.  Excel tend to bring rubbish cases to court and here is another one where they were spanked by a judge who clearly knew all about them.

What was the basis on it being thrown out? Abuse of process due to the add on £60 ot was it something else?

When you get a chance please put up a synopsis of what happened as its great to read others can learn from it.  Were you awarded costs for them wasting you're time? 

Also if you got a case number/ email/ letter of the Judgment- please put up a redacted version in the abuse of process post.

As you said earlier you identified a scam. I would certainly take a few minutes and report it to

I had a ticket which I could produce, it was in date and it clearly displayed my Vehicle Registration Mark.   Simple as that.  The judge took the view that the landowner/Excel and any other interested person had not lost anything financially.

Sadly no costs awarded though but I did ask.

I will post up what I can remember.  I did not take notes and I can't even remember Excels legal representative.

At which court was your hearing?  Manchester and some of the Yorkshire courts are graveyards for PPCs because Judges there have got their measure and can see through the smoke and mirrors!
