I have submitted an email asking for the refund with the points you made @eskbanker and we shall see how they reply. Hopefully it will be positive but i very much doubt it
Again thanks for the help @eskbanker & @sheramber.0 -
I have been away so have not managed to post the reply I got. All of a sudden I seem to have a second booking number it's so frustrating I will be contacting my credit card on my return from holiday as I am getting nowhere. Again thanks @eskbanker &
I do want to be clear that your package was for accommodation and transfers in Tokyo, with additional flight services . The Paralympic ticket element was separate as event tickets were subject to a different set of terms and conditions stipulated by Tokyo 2020. This is reflected in the two bookings you have for this transaction, reference number 2***2 relates to the ticket purchase and reference number 3***8 to the ground package.
As I explained in my previous email, we gave all our clients the option to cancel if they were unable to fulfil the criteria implemented by Tokyo for entry into the country. ( THIS BIT IS WHAT CONFUSES ME THE MOST AS WE ARE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTRY SO SURLEY THEY CAN CANCEL!)
Unfortunately, in your case, the airline and hotels are still providing the services that we booked for your trip. We have done all we can in this situation to get the best refunds we can, however British Airways are still operating your flight and as such will only issue a voucher for use before end 2023.
I am certainly not challenging your right to cancel your trip but I do reiterate that the event tickets are not part of the package.
Therefore in these circumstances we can only do our upmost to secure the maximum refund from our contracted partners for your trip as they are still providing the services.
As I stated previously, the whole team at Nirvana is trying to do its very best to sort this out. The current position of vouchers from BA, a refund for your accommodation and a separate refund for event tickets is the only option, unless BA cancel or significantly change their schedule. Clearly, with no retention of service charges by Nirvana.
I really do feel that we have done our very best to get to this position and we will of course continue to monitor the position of the BA flights on a daily basis, however I am conscious that you will need to accept the BA vouchers before your scheduled departure date of 31 August 2021.
Yours sincerely
David

Spoke to the credit card company today and they said they won't contest it as the tickets and the services are separate. So looks as if I am at the mercy of the travel company.0

I did think you would have a battle to get anything form the wording of the replies you were getting.
You can look into the Small Claims Court process to see if you want to go down that route.
I am surprised there are not complaints on their Facebook page as I would have thought others would be similarly affected.

Well Spoke to them yesterday and apparently BA have moved one of the flights so they have asked for a refund and I should be getting a full refund.
Thanks for the help @sheramber & @eskbanker1 -
Hope it goes well. It has been a struggle.1
