The cheapest quote I found when looking was from https://www.conveyancing-quote.com/. They appear to refer cases to a panel so you don’t know in advance which firm you’ll be using (so can’t check reviews etc).

Someone has already suggested Really Moving, also try Compare & Convey:
    https://www.reallymoving.com/
For the most straightforward purchase where you don’t care about timescales at all the cheapest might be OK. As you’re buying leasehold this is not the most straightforward purchase. Also will your vendor (and onward chain?) be happy to work to your budget conveyancer’s timescales?
I wouldn’t use a no-completion-no-fee outfit. How likely are they to advise you not to go ahead with a purchase if it means they won’t get paid…?
I did not go with my cheapest quote nor any firm from a comparison site (they all had poor reviews).

Sometimes cheapest isn’t the best. Read google reviews etc.

some conveyancing companies just sit on cases and frustrate their clients.

I recently used a comparison site for remortgage conveyancing and glad I read the reviews, one of the cheapest had average 2.8/5 but the last 20 reviews are 1 stars.
In my experience they are all pretty much the same, do you shop at Lidl? If so, you'd be fine with the cheapest, so long as your name gets in the title deed and they review the documents. Ultimately they have indemnity insurance to cover mistakes. Even the highest paid can screw up. My experience has never been the more you pay the better service you get, you tend to just get more cheesy and annoying sales agents....

Iv used these particular guys twice before now, and didn't have any issues, they even put through an auction purchase within the 30 day period.

I used to use Roberts Crossley Solicitors, they had a front called Conveyancing Warehouse, whose prices came in at half the usual rate. Unfortunately that has since increased considerably.
Fair enough. I guess if one is not in a hurry and does not mind poor customer service can use any.
