I'd suggest that what you're supposed to do now consists of:

1. Order a card reader
2. Download the Zettle app
3. Tell them where to send your money
4. Check your settings

Why is 4 weeks no good? They take as long as they take, no bank is just going to give you one without 1st going through some basic checks.
Do you have a business plan?
What are you selling? 
How much do you expect to sell?👍

I suggest you do a lot more research on how to run a business. As this just sounds like "I've had a idea to make some money" 


Rather than rely on others to do the work for you 

The last time I set a BA up I went into the bank and it was done there and then thankyou

I was told similar by high street banks when I started a business last year so I tried Starling Bank instead. The account was set up online within about 24 hours and unlike most business accounts there are no charges for standard transactions other than for banking cash.

I only want to do online payments for my web site

Why don't you keep things simple for the moment and stick with Paypal - then as you get more experienced, and your turnover begins to grow - then consider creating additional options for the customer to use? It sounds like you're right at the beginning of starting to sell things, and only doing it online, so until you're seeing the T-shirts fly, and the £'s roll-in - just keep it simple and straightforward?
