Parking Ticket Given in England but I stay in Scotland - Do I need to Pay ?.

Hi,

Looking for some advice if possible please.

I parked on a double yellow line in Keswick last week (June 2021).

My young daughter was desperate for the toilet & there were no spaces available as it was a Saturday afternoon & Keswick was packed.

The only space available was a small section of double yellow lines (surrounded by no yellow lines ?). I thought it would be okay as the street these were on was a side street & the road was closed at the other end for road works so there was no through traffic.

We had to walk a fair bit to get to a Toilet, so I'd say I was away about a good half hour or so & when we got back to the car I'd been given a Ticket.

My question is:  as I live in Scotland can I still be made to pay this Fine (£70 btw). Does an English Court have the authority to make me pay ?.

Is this council or private?  If council please go to peppipoo, we concentrate of private PCNs.

Before paying any money to anyone, it is probably best to understand who is asking for your money.
Surely you can be sure about that?
