Freebie product not included as described

What happens if you buy a product online whose description stated an item is included, but on arrival this free item is nowhere to be seen?

If you report this to the company are you entitled to some money back?

    It will massively depend on how the free item was legally structured into the sale. I would doubt that you are entitled to a discount though as that part of a contract will be written in favour of the retailer.

    As above, depends on the terms of the offer.  If it absolutely should have been included (as opposed to something like a "whilst stocks last" type scenario), then you can return the item for a full refund.  You have no automatic right to a discount.

    It just said in the description of the product that it came with 2 packets of spice mix but they aren’t there.

    You can return whatever you received as being not as described. As above, no implied right to keep it and get a partial refund.

    There is the right to a price reduction that I believe would apply in this situation:

    www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/section/24/enacted

    5)A consumer who has the right to a price reduction and the final right to reject may only exercise one (not both), and may only do so in one of these situations—

    (a)after one repair or one replacement, the goods do not conform to the contract;

    (b)because of section 23(3) the consumer can require neither repair nor replacement of the goods; or

    (c)the consumer has required the trader to repair or replace the goods, but the trader is in breach of the requirement of section 23(2)(a) to do so within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the consumer.

    23(3) being it's impossible or disproportionate.

    Worth a try pinging it over to the retailer to ask but if they don't agree to send the spices or refund their value I'm assuming the value is low so probably not worth pursuing further.

    Are you sure its an added item rather than just something thats always in the box?

    Your statutory right is to reject the whole order and get a refund for it all rather than a £0.75 discount for two samples of spice mix. At the end of the day though you can have a conversation with them and depending on who you bought it from they may be able to send out them separately or may give you a £1 gift voucher etc if you'd rather that.

    The spices are worth more like £10 as can usually only import them from USA.
    What spice can you only import from the USA?

    The spices packets can normally only be found in the US which is why it’s quite disappointing. The packets are together sold for $15 in the US. It’d cost me a lot more myself to get them.
