Sorry for the first flippant answer.

It's very unlikely that fitting solar panels will increase the value of your home. The best outcome is that they will pay for themselves in electricity savings and SEG payments over the next 10-20 years.

A typical installation of 4 kilowatts of panels, on a south-facing roof with no shading from trees etc, will cost around £4000 and generate 4000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. The best generally-available deal for SEG payments is 5.5p/kWh, available from Octopus or E.On. If you export all 4000 kilowatt-hours you will earn £220 per year and the system will pay back in 18 years.
If you can make use of the electricity yourself, instead of buying it from the grid, the system will pay back sooner; potentially 10-12 years, depending on exactly how much you use vs. export.

    Welcome to the forum.

According to their Website you can save 'up to' £54,286 and 'up to 70% on your bills'(they don't say what bills)

Note: the term 'up to' covers a range from 0.1% to 70%.

If you are interested in getting solar panels there is loads of information on the 'Green and Ethical money saving' section of this website. You should get some realistic ideas on costs to install solar panels and potential savings.

    Some reviews from their website:

The solar panels themselves are great- but the 'boiler minder' that they installed on our boiler to 'make it more efficient' seems to have stopped our boiler working completely! Contacted them multiple times in the months following our installation with regards to this, but no response from them! 6 months down the line now and coming into winter and our boiler still doesn't work! The customer service and level of installation is pretty poor and I would not recommend using them.

On the 6th visit we were eventually up and running. No one explained the system too us.
They have all the sales patter but the support is appalling. They need to sort the after sales out.
Many questions, but it seems the office can’t be bothered.Sort out your customer service department.

If there was the option to give 0 stars, that is what I would give them as they don't even deserve 1.
I have used this company for over 6 months, spending well over £13 in the process for installation of solar panels. Ever since then I have had nothing but problems, from the panels not working, to my roof leaking, wrong inverters installed, holes put in my walls and so on and so forth.
It is virtually impossible to contact them as they don't reply to phone calls or emails, and when they do, it's often an unsatisfactory response.

I've read several reviews here, and noticed that the ones praising this fraudulent company appear to be actual employees of the company itself, especially Gary. Please beware of this company as they appear to be in it to make money by misleading and duping unsuspecting customers with the promise of saving money on bills and making money by selling to the grid.

They apparently give you a 25 year guarantee and once invoked theyre never to be seen or heard.

    Terrible company, terrible service.

I have now booked 2 appointments and nobody turned up either time, despite calling me hours before to make sure me and my partner would both be present for the appointment.

After missing the first appointment they did not even call to rebook or apologise. When I called to complain all they wanted was to rebook the appointment ‘as a priority booking’ - which yet again they did not turn up for.

This is a really avoidable company.
Some reviewers just wrote an exact review about what I think of this company.
So with a little copy paste (thanks for that) here is my opinion.

If there was the option to give 0 stars, that is what I would give them as they don't even deserve 1.
First, at selling and introduction company representative actually lied about out take of this investment. Let's just say an example.
We took out a loan for it and he calculated and promised (and we asked back this a several times to make it sure) that we will get back from the grid payments, about a 2/3 price of our monthly repayments + save about half of our electricity usage.
Our electricity calculation is ok but we are not near to the 2/3 rather 1/13.
After rep. made a business he is not responsible and reachable.

I have used this company for over more than a year spending well over £8000 in the process for installation of solar panels. Ever since then I have had nothing but problems, wrong inverters installed (they changed after a several appointments...), damage on new property bathroom (again, we had to arrange a few appointments...)
It is virtually impossible to contact them as they don't reply to phone calls or emails, and when they do, it's often an unsatisfactory response.
They use some ad-hoc companies as I never seen a company car or uniform.

Did not turn up for arranged appointment, after insisting myself and my partner were both present which meant one of us had to arrange time off work to fit with the appointment slots available. Made no effort to contact us to let us know or apologise, in spite of near-spam level phone calls, texts and emails throughout the preceding 48 hours to confirm the appointment. Customer service number rang unanswered when we tried to call. Unreliable - use one of the many other companies on the market.

I wouldn't recommend this company at all don't buy from them at any cost.

Firstly, this Finance offering company are fooling people with lots of scientific information and blinding them from the real deal. Please Don’t do it it will never pay for itself I fell down the same hole....and anyone that’s bought over the last few years I speak to are now making claims for mis selling.

Secondly, their customer service is so rude and useless they don't give proper information on anything. From the day of installation up until now i had several issues with them and i have to ring them over and over again to get the issues resolved.

In short, i wouldn't recommend Evergen please avoid at any cost.

Just had a sales rep from this company give me a quote and I must say hes attitude has a lot to be desired. Reminded me of the pushy double glazed sales person trying to close a sale.
Insisted my partner and me both be present during conversation, which is fine if my wife understood a word of English or even any of the technical Jargon.
Eventually gave me a quote and left. Decided to do some research and called the sales rep back as I found that since December 2018, the Government confirmed its intention to end solar panel incentive payments on 31 March 2019, meaning people who have solar panels installed after this won't receive payments for generating electricity or exporting it to the grid to ask him abut this, as he claimed that the government would pay for any unused electricity. He became very evasive and proceeded to talk over me evading the question. Very rude and unprofessional.I ASKED him to let me talk and listen to what i was asking and not interrupt which he agreed to to do, to then proceeded to interrupt me again.
I made it easy and explained to him that if he did not know the answer so just say so, but at every turn was spoken over by sales rep.
Must say if this is the way they deal with business then i would AVOID at all cost.

Be aware of the way the installation is done as pigeons will move in under the panels within a few days and Evergen does not give you any support or assistance to deal with pests. It will cost you another £800 to £1000 to get bird proof for the panels.

Ask a few estate agents but I think they will confirm that solar panels add virtually nothing to the value of a property as such.  However when I got solar panels they boosted my Energy performance Certificate from a D to a B rating; I don't know if that adds any value.
