Coverteam direct - home appliance insurance

Hi all,
I seeking some advice. Has anyone had any dealings with coverteam direct?
They provide home appliance cover and my elder mum has just renewed a number of appliances with them. However they keep constantly calling trying to pressure her to take out cover for the roorlf and ceilings, which she does not need because of the type of accommodation she lives in. They have recently threatened to take this money directly from her bank account.
1. Can the do this if she has told them it's not required.
I have tried searching online for them and their website has been suspended by the FCA. they came up on trust pilot with 55% of reviewers giving them 1 star rating.
I'm going to try and see if we can cancel the policies and get a refund for the unused months.
2. Has anyone had any dealings with them and how was it resolved.
I'm thinking about writing a complaints letter to them the ombudsman.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
