SafetyNet Refund Success Story - Irresponsible Lending

  • No point in going to FOS. The problem will be solved long before your complaint even gets opened.

Be patient. It's a handful of working days late

Hi, I sent an email off to Safetynetcredit on 13/06/22 regarding unaffordable lending, they replied to me with a final response on 29/11/22 saying they would refund me monies, which I accepted on 05/12/22.
They told me it would be processed on 19/12/22 so I contacted them on that day and they said it would now be processed on 23/12/22, I then contacted them again on the 23rd and they then said it would be processed that day by 7pm, I contacted again on the 23rd and they told me it would be processed on the 03/01/23,
so I call them on the 3rd of January and now someone from the general chat says the payments were paused over Christmas but the complaints department say there’s a technical issue. Company now stating there is no date they are giving me for process just it will be ‘asap’

any ideas what I can do?
Can they just string me along like this?

I'm in a similar position.  I've just called them, they didn't even ask for any of my details, just said that since December they've been unable to make refund payments and they have no timescale for when it will be resolved.  Doesn't sound great.

Doesn't look good...quite a few articles from yesterday suggesting they are about to declare insolvency!

I’m following this thread as I was also due to be paid redress on 28/12, which obviously did not happen. They’re now not responding to emails and their live chat team just keep saying the same thing - “we will be contacting customers as soon as we can”. I don’t think we’re seeing any of that money!
  • I am also following this thread.

I was also given the 3/1/23 as a date that funds would be released and have sent emails everyday since with only one reply stating that “due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to release finds on that date. The matter is being looked at as a matter of urgency”

I have borrowed money from family because I expected the money that week and have had nothing.

They promised 1468 that was due to me.

Do I contact FAO or just wait and see?
  • Hi, yes I'm waiting for my redress to be paid not replying to any of my emails either, should of been paid by now.

I think it’s a waiting game at this stage, if they are appointing insolvency experts then the FAO aren’t going to be able to do anything. I don’t think we’re going to get the money though, sorry to say. Am happy to be proved wrong
  • I have been on live chat today and been told that the delay is due to the festive season. It’s a joke. They have now breached their own agreement. Pity I can charge them interest per day like they do with us! I have contacted FOA also

Do let us know if you get anywhere with it, it’s definitely not due to the festive season at this point. I’m not giving up per se but I’m trying not to get my hopes up that I’ll ever get my money

Their website has now been updated confirming administrators have been appointed. Interestingly they are going to carry on lending to some customers…if this is possible it would be pretty shocking to not then pay out on final agreements made prior to the administration today. Guess we carry on waiting to see what comes next.
