Home broadband without contract

Options
Hi, I am going to rent an apartment temporarily (due to work reasons) for about 5-6 months & need broadband there without contract so I can leave with minimum notice. I can’t move my broadband from my current residence as my family are going to continue living there.
Any suggestions?
Now TV apparently have broadband with 1 month rolling contract but the reviews on trust pilot are shocking.
Thanks in advance.

Your options are limited because most providers  will give you better deals if you stick with them for 12/18/24 months.  If you then up sticks and leave, you're often no better off than you would have been had you stayed.  You'll also pay more for a monthly contract.

If Now is the only option for landline, look at mobile broadband.

try using your phone as a hotspot or get a dedicated mifi router and a 4g data sim.

You can then take it with you anywhere. Either get pre-pay sims or a rolling contract

A lot will depend on how much data you expect to chew through. I get Three, 24 month 24gbit sims for when I'm away in my caravan - it lasts for 24 months or 24 gigs, which ever runs out first.

  • Given that there are 12 month deals around on the best buy table for c.£12.50 per month, getting this and only using it for 6months equates to £25 per month - basically the same as the best buy 1 month deals.

Consider the mobile and 1 month options, but my gut feel is that getting a 12 month deal and just paying it out at the end is the right answer.

My experience of working away from home is that it's always longer than the original contract - another reason to get the 12 month deal, in case it turns into 9 or 12 months.

You could try <Pulse8 Broadband>. 30-day rolling contracts.

You can get a Three SIM with one month notice rolling contract and use your mobile (or spare if you have one) as a hotspot. Works well.
