FridgeFreezer temperature problem

Options
I got a Beko fridge freezer last week and when I checked the temperatures, the freezer is only -5C to -9C (depending on position). I know it’s meant to be lower than that but when I adjust the dial to make it colder, the fridge starts to freeze everything.

Beko’s toubleshooting guide says to adjust the freezer dial, but there isn’t one in the freezer! Not that I can find. There’s only one dial at the top of the fridge.

How full is your freezer? This can affect the temperature - if you haven't already done so fill it and then check the temperature.

    The exact model?

IMO, -5 in the freezer means that either the thermometer or the freezer is faulty. In my freezer I cannot set the temperature higher than -17.

It’s only got a few things in it. There’s lots of empty space. I’m just scared to do a big shop and fill it up in case it turns out this is faulty and I end up wasting more food.

Yeah, I've got a Beko frost free FF and it is quite difficult to get the both the freezer and fridge temperatures perfectly aligned. In the end I got a temperature data logger to monitor the temp over a 24hr period in both the fridge and freezer compartmenst and adjusted the setting for the best compromise. My dial is set to just below 3 which gets the freezer temp down to around -18C and the top shelve around 5C (+/- 1 degree or so). I still occasionally get a bit of ice on the back of the fridge.

"The average temperature inside the fridge should be around +5°C."

Why does it not surprise me that the manual says nothing about the temperature inside the freezer?

@neilmcl When you say below 3, do you mean towards 2 or towards 4? I get confused about which way is colder/warmer. Mine is still at 3 currently.

Mine is not frost-free, even though the manual that came with it says it is.

I have a large delivery of frozen food arriving on Monday. Will this food not be safe to eat with the freezer at this temperature? I could try and cancel the order.

"0=System cooling is off.1=Lowest cooling setting (Warmest setting).5=Highest cooling setting (Coldest setting)."
    - This is from the manual.

Every cycle It has to melt the ice that builds up. It's faulty if it doesn't.

IMO, it's OK for couple of weeks.
