Iphone X shows as Sim Locked, but its Unlocked

I bought this Iphone X in Jul2020 direct from O2 under the "As New"
I can't recall if it came unlocked or if the unlock process was done when purchasing it, I'd guess it came unlocked.

I have recently noticed under the settings it states "SIM Locked" yet currently the Mrs is using a "3" network sim, I've tried my EE and both work fine.

I've queried this with Apple who have informed me the Iphone must only have a regional (Europe) unlock block on it.

any ideas as to the best way to get the iphone fully unlocked.

both mine & my daughters IPhone 11 state NO Sim Restrictions which means its fully unlocked for anywhere in the world according to Apple.

Fair Play to O2 who sorted this out today.

I was advised by O2 I had to get a O2 sim (bought a pre loaded one from Ebay) use it for 24 hours, make a call/send a text.
for O2 to fully unlock the iphone, end result iPhone now states No Sim Restrictions
