Thanks @anjyeah ! I did an online take home pay calculator and it should be not far off £200/month. I don't get it til end of October though
It was great to have a look at the ol' monthly spreadsheet and realise I can set a bit more aside for savings to clear the M&S card without BTing it in May. As I need to remortgage next year with the end of my 5-year fix, not having that balance hanging around should help me get a better deal (I'm hoping anyway!) I can also allocate a bit more to the Ents budget. Somehow after the last 18 months, money for doing nice things with the family just seems like a priority. We're not talking anything exciting just the odd cinema trip, swimming or takeaway.
Big shop day yesterday £60.53 from L1dl but OH has meal planned for that to last 12 days. We also get a monthly Oddbox for fruit n veg. Should be an NSD today
One thing I am struggling with is to lose my lockdown weight. I'm currently running 3 times a week, swimming once a week and cycling and walking almost everywhere. It's been about 8 weeks of the new regime and not a lb lost! I know weighing yourself isn't the best guide but there does come a point when you have to admit it's an issue. It's just really dispiritingChoose kind4 -
Fun times here. DD has weekly tutoring which my Dad pays for - it's been a real help with DD's anxiety and confidence. Anyway, today they were doing composite nouns (I'm not sure what the technical term is but like back-ground = background). Tutor was saying the first part and DD was supposed to come up with an appropriate second part. Anyway, tutor says 'fore'... you can guess the rest

The tutor asked for that one 😂3

Yes @CRANKY40 although the tutor (who is lovely) always seems quite prim and proper in a teachery kind of way so it may have been her subconscious speaking
DD is mortified but I've encouraged her to embrace it as a diamond anecdote for her mates.

Coinage obtained from bank this morning for tomorrow's boot sale. We don't have any 'high value' items this time (last time we shifted DD's 3/4 size guitar and my old flute which I couldn't sell to a music shop) so my target is a £20 profit or more. I've got to pay the carpenter for our super cool understairs cupboard so it'll just go towards that. DD gets to keep any cash made on her items so it's a good incentive to declutter
The early start (buyers arrive from 6am) is brutal though and none of us is a morning person! Once the butty van turns up everything gets easier

Hope you all sell lots2

Thanks @teapot2 & @beanielou (and hello to old friends!) Unfortunately, our 2nd outing was much less successful. We were stuck on a net loss for the longest time although did eventually break even then make a small profit (£12). DD did really well and made about a tenner on her bits. It's so hard to predict - just wasn't the right crowd for our stuff, and had some really nice bits n pieces. On the upside though I found out there's a coins stall and so I might take a load of historical coins and notes I inherited from my grandma up to them. We just crashed after the early start and DD and I ended up having a movie afternoon while OH watched Wimbledon and then the footie build-up.
Got in touch with M&S about when the 0% ends and it's a month earlier than I thoughtI don't know if it'll affect my remortgage if I BT? It is tempting as I'll have about £3.5k left and I get worried about losing my safety net savings to clear it.
It's DD's last full week of primary schoolI can't quite believe it! I've taken the afternoon off on her last day so need to fund something nice to do to celebrate
