Cuckoo broadband?

It's time to renew/renegotiate/negotiate our broadband. (Grrr!)
I've come across Cuckoo broadband - cuckoo.co - in a Which? search. It sounds interesting.

- one-month rolling contract
- no price increase, other than inflation
- reasonable price: £30 per month (OK, £29.99)
- they can't transfer our landline number. We don't use it much, but we've had it for 41 years. They can supply a new number and will not charge if we don't use it.
- hefty-ish set up fee: £60

You always pay more for one month rolling contracts, but if you can commit to 12/18/24 months you get a better deal. That's how the system works unfortunately. Same with the setup fees.If you want a rolling contract without a 12 month fix, I believe Now offers it at a cheaper rate than Cuckoo (£22 with £60 setup). The router won't be any better (same router as Sky just with Now branding, and all recent Sky routers are crap in the wireless department) but a better known name. Cuckoo seems to the brainchild of somebody who worked at the treasury, for what its worth.1

I don't have experience of Cuckoo but wouldn't want to lose my landline number. I'm with BT and I pay £46.97 per month (Broadband is £24.43) altogether for a bundle consisting of landline, broadband and TV.
Two of us work from home (different rooms on computers 7 days a week) in a rural area and the broadband speed and connection are excellent. We need that as our jobs depend on it.
Whenever the contract is nearing the end, I phone BT and renegotiate a new 'bundle' and it's always cheaper than just letting it renew.
If you are with BT already I do apologise but we have had other providers in the past and have been badly let down. BT is the only one to be consistently connected. It works for us.Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Thanks, folks.
Useful advice.
I've had BT recently, also Plusnet and Now (currently with Now.) The attraction of Cuckoo includes:- no end-of-contract/renewal hassle
- straightforward broadband offer, similar in principle to Zen
I have a couple of weeks to make up my mind.0
