Most agricultural machinery (Tractors etc) STILL use a single key !

I think that they rely on people not being capable of driving a tractor.Deleted_User said:molerat said:I remember in the 70s you could go into Halfords and there was board hanging up with about 50 keys on which was enough to cover 90% of all the cars in the UK.

No, it saves holding a job up if someone wanders off with the key.Deleted_User said:

Nothing holds a job up half as much as finding the tractor's been nicked... Which is why aftermarket immobilisers are big business for agricultural machinery.DB1904 said:

Not all Cat's are worth nicking, hence the reason they target particular cars. Presumably they have enough of the rare elements to make it worth while. Prius are on the list FAIK. My lad had his nicked off a Jazz.0

Some Mazda MX5 OEM CATs sell for over £1000 more than some of the cars, Honda and Prius's are also very valuable in terms of their original content.
Old OEM CAT's is where the value is.0 -

They might take the whole car to strip for the batteries, but getting at the battery isn't a 1 minute job while the other 3 blokes menace anyone approaching them with knives & hammers. There might actually be enough time to round up enough vigilantes to take them on.
