Green Network Energy - final bill

Just received my final bill from GNE ( now EDF) In it I noticed the standing charge had increased by nearly 100% for both Gas and Electricity.  Called the service desk to be told the rates increased as they were in administration!!! - I have contract with GNE but was never told of an increase in the standing charge and the subsequent EDF contract protects the original GNE tariff - so how come in administration they can charge more?  I have complained - check your bill!

@jiwer Did you cancel your direct debit with GNE? Some other customers (like myself) found that this caused the tariff to change. There is a long-running thread on the GNE to EDF switch which you might find useful.

Just received my final bill. As I switched away I assume EDF will contact me for payment

My understanding of the rates to be expected on my final GNE bill, if one ever arrives, is

Billing to 27 January - rates as per your contract with GNE

Billing from 28 January to switch date - EDF variable GNE tariff rates. The EDF rates allegedly will generate the same or lower billing than GNE hence EDF's price match guarantee

Is that correct?
