Talk Talk price increases

I signed up to Fibre 65 broadband including calls at £23.00 per month with Talk Talk on a fixed 18 month contract that clearly state "No mid-contract price rises". on 15th June they advise of a price increase of £2.50 per month. I have spoken online twice with them on live chat and they say it is due to demand but surely a fixed contract is a fixed contract and they are in breach of false advertising if they increase prices mid contract. When I quiz them they disconnect from me, refuse to give me a copy of the transcript (however I have screenshots). Is it worth fighting for customers rights as surely they are in breach or just leave them and look elsewhere. They are offering free cancellation at the moment but that's the easy option for them. Surely for a large company, false advertising is illegal.

Go back to TT and ask for the complaints procedure and put complaint in writing .

Thank you for your response, it currently feels that their customer services have been told not to own up to false advertising and are just pushing their customers to go elsewhere. Not very good sales practice. Thanks again.0

This situation is all over the TT forum.
They have invoked a clause in the Ts and Cs, which are legal and agreed by OFCOM too, that allows them to increase pricing at any time for business reasons.
They have ditched the old fixed price contracts and introduced Fixed Price Plus which they cannot change unilaterally.
As it is to your detriment they give you the option to leave without penalty within 30 days of being notified, but you MUST tell them you are doing so.
Any complaint will just refer you back to the Ts and Cs and get you nowhere.
What you need to do is call 0345 172 0078, express your annoyance and see if they can offer you a better deal.
I did this during the April price rise fiasco and have now got an 18 month contract at less than I was paying before the £2 rise at that time, albeit subject to the CPI + 3.7% rise next April.
If you need a calls package, some customers have managed to get the UK Unlimited Calls boost thrown in for free, however check the duration of that offer.1 -
My bill has just been received and gone up from fixed term ->7/22 £23 to £28.99 . Certainly not £2.50 in anybody s maths. TT just stone walling me . What should I do next0

@Bessiekob
Your bill is fully itemised in your online account, so open and expand recent bills to see what element has changed.
Discount end dates are also shown there, so see if one has expired.
Have you have made chargeable calls ?
If you have a call boost, have any gone over the allowed 60 minutes ?
You need to do a bit of digging yourself, the evidence is there !
