Not sure my redundancy is being done legally

  • Lots of comments above which seem to miss the point. The point about redundancy selection/ consultation is that it must be meaningful. The employer can’t present it as a decision which has already been made. If they have the dismissal will be unfair in that the consultation process was a sham. Consultation must also be with the individuals concerned as well as being collective. Employers also often fail because the selection pools are incorrectly determined, a point alluded to earlier. Suggest you take legal advice. The final arbiter is an Employment Tribunal if they go ahead and don’t follow proper procedures.

Hi, sorry to hear you are being made redundant; how long have you been with the company; is it worth going to an Employment Tribunal. Without a Trade union behind you  it could be a difficult case to bring. Speak to Acas, as suggested before.

My view is depending on your length of service and how long you need to work; I would take any enhanced package to leave. Why stay in a place that has already decided your not part of their team.

    Good luck
