Just been sent an email to tell me my norton 360 subscription will be automatically renewed at £84.99 unless i cancell, which i have done. On the norton website you can buy the same product for half the price. Can i just buy a new product and will i have to uninstall my current norton product to install the new one

Not really knowing what N360 is, but many on here (me included) suggest that the 'built in' Windows security is adequate.

    Maybe try it?

    Or £10 from Amazon.

I have no idea about the easiest way to install it. If in doubt zap the original one first.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

AS much as it is not the POS it used to be it's still 99% a POS. Do yourself a favour and use windows built in security. 99.99999999999999999999999% of people issues is not one these things will fix and one of them just opening things or installing things without thinking.

You can buy the new product and it will install over the old one fine. I often cancel my Norton subscription and then repurchase. Norton are dreadful for relying on customer inertia as much as they do. However, their product is good.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

But if you do uninstall it make sure you use their specific uninstall tool or fragments of their files will be left.

Uninstall Norton.  Use the free built Windows built in security.

Whether it is helpful or even relevant.

Norton extends refund rights after CMA action

The CMA has secured extended refund rights for all customers of anti-virus firm Norton whose contracts auto-renew, just weeks after McAfee made a similar commitment.

Request a Refund for those who auto-renewed at a high price.

I had a similar payment request.  It's cynical inertia selling.  I went on to Live Chat with Norton and they reduced it to £25 or so, which I paid.   Like Insurance and Broadband- the loyal customers get screwed while the new customers get the deals.   I saw something recently saying that this practice is to be made illeagal for Insurance....

The best thing you can do with Norton's products is to never buy them, the next best thing you can do is to uninstall them and never use them again.
