Identifying thanked posts.

Options
Until 2 mse changes ago, we could see the i.d. of those who thanked posts - a very helpful option.
This disappeared with the previous change and hasn't returned now either.

* MSE Admin. - please return this function. Thankyou.

This vanished along with the discussion board. Something to do with stopping ego boosting of controversial posters.

    Thankyou _shel.
I subscribe to 1 Thread only and have no interest in living mostly online.

Johnson's deliberate covid mishandling has enforced it as substitute for many meetings and r.l., but that has nothing to do with mse usage.

The thanks i.d. function was a useful reminder of who was around and o.k., also whether or not I'd thanked a post.
Living in a connectivity notspot makes online activity tenuous anyway.

Hi - not sure if this is what you mean, but if you hover your mouse over the Thanks button/text below a post you can see a callout that lists who has thanked that post ... or at least about 10 or so names anyway. The latest forum skin and the previous one are the same in that respect - I can't comment about anything previous to these:)

It's always been a bit of a pain that you can't "hover" on a mobile.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

You usually can - you hold your finger on the screen just away from where you want to "hover" and then move your finger over the target (e.g. the Thanks button) and then lift your finger off the screen ... the cursor is now positioned (hovering) over the target without there having been a click action. Just tried it on my mobile with this site though and it doesn't seem to work. :(

I have to change to browser view, press the thanks button to see who has done it. Then change back to mobile view to use the forum.
