Get some dated photos of your car asap as well. If they are claiming a collision then also proof your car hasn't been damaged my help.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

It is most likely a number plate missread, but-

Have you considered the possibility that you could, unknowingly, have been involved in an accident, the timing is right for when you were driving, and they could have the wrong street?

There doesn't have to be contact for you to be involved- another driver could have reacted to your vehicle and swerved into something, and got your number off their dash cam maybe.....
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

try to visualise a triangle ABC, A is my work place, B is alleged incident, C is my home, I drive C->A, I don't drive C-B-A, I can but it is across the town. To get to closest junction near B is about 7 min from home. I left home at about 10pm on tracking app.
Called insurer, they logged a claim, no claim against me at present, legal team got in touch, I gave them police reference number, we gonna fight it, Traffic summons team line is not  manned nor answerphone available. So they going to try and  contact them.

All a bit close to home when you're talking about 'minutes' to claim you weren't in the area. I had a similar situation but mine was hours/200 miles difference and was dropped immediately.

I certainly wouldn't be 'talking' to anyone to try and get this resolved - it needs a full, formal paper trail to fight it

can you please elaborate, I don't understand the last sentence ...' talking' to anyone...., surely I have to tell my insurer about it.

Sorry - to elaborate you shouldn't be 'talking to' the traffic summons team - the forms/process are there for a reason

As others have said, the most probable explanations are that someone has misread a number plate - which could easily mean that the car which was involved is the same make, model and even colour as yours.

If you have legal cover then hopefully your insurance co will be able assist you - meanwhile, keep records - as others have said, dated photos of your car (to show no damage) download the tracking info so you have that,
All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)
