Are you sure it's not your passport that's expired?1

Tried to renew my photo card licence online a couple of month ago and it wouldn't accept my 2019 issued passport.
Phoned the DVLA but they were no help. They just assumed I was on a dodgy site and emailed me a link saying it will work on that but obviously the link was just the same Gov site I was already on.1 -
You haven't hit 70 have you?1

She is over 70, but the reminder she got said she could still renew it online.Does being 70 make a difference? She answered all the question about health etc. but got the same not valid message as the OP even though both her passport and driving licence are still in date.1

Your licence expires when you are 70 and you need to renew it. AS opposed to only the photograph expiring for those under 70.
You need to renew it every 3 years.
Normally you can renew it online for up to 90 days before it expires but it appears there is a problem online at the moment
She should check the validity of her licence if the renewal hasn't gone through by the date it is due to expire. She may not be able to drive after that date until it does renew.0 -

I've been trying over the weekend and again this morning, still the same issue, saying my licence is no longer valid (frustrating as I feel the message is a generic reply, rather than saying what the issue really is, I suspect it is a problem their end with linking their driving licence department with their passport department)0 -

I first got the problem in March (and spoke to them about it then). I left it til May in the hope it'd be sorted, it doesn't seem that they are trying to fix it...0
