Sit tight a few days longer. HSBC have been known to not communicate perfectly during a finance application - I recently applied for one, and the card was delivered about a week later - so give it a little while longer before you get back in touch with them.1

HSBC isn't known for being the fastest to open new accounts with - it took over a month for me when I first applied for a current account with before the account was opened and I had full access to everything. You'll need to be a bit patient, but you should definitely keep on top of it if things start to take a long time to get things sorted.1

HSBC accounts seem impossible to get. Just applied for one but failed the credit check! I earn three times the basic requirements and have a 999 Experian credit score. Customer service India just refuse to discuss reasons and when I say you have received fraudulent information the phone always goes dead soon afterwards! Why can they be honest with their reasons for rejection?0

their reason for rejection is that you didn't match their criteria. Telling you what their criteria are would be releasing confidential business rules - they are not going to do that as everyone would just tune their application to fit the rulesI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

HSBC will have their own private scoring system which evidently you have failed to score highly enough on.You are not entitled to an account and they are not obliged to give you one.1

What do you think this "fraudulent information" is, and where do you think it has come from?0 -
