I was meaning the OP, Sports Direct only refund the price of the items, not the postage cost, unless the OP paid for a return postage label upon ordering I think.Sandtree said:
That makes no sense at all... they won't refund returns postage costs so it will "cost them"? Practically it will cost them to process the return but that is independent of if they refund the return shipping costs or not.Barny1979 said:It'll cost them to return the items by post as they won't refund the postage for orders that aren't faulty.
Morally this is the correct response however this forum isnt about morals and whilst legally they have done nothing wrong legally you have the right to cancel the order you made online within 14 days of receipt of the goods. As such its worth double checking what the current online price is and/or your local store and assuming you can secure the lower price (factoring in return costs) have a conversation with them about if they can discount else you'll reject the goods and reorder at the lower price.jweb2k said:If they came with tags saying £59.99 would you owe them £20?1 -
What they're playing at is charging the OP the price the OP agreed to pay for in exchange for the item.MalMonroe said:If it were me and they sent me shirts with 'sale' stickers on them I'd not be pleased at all. It's a real slap in the face. Charging you one price and then sticking labels on them before sending them out, after having charged you £10 more for each one. What a cheek!
I'd definitely have to phone them and ask what they're playing at. If they didn't have sale stickers on it wouldn't seem quite as bad but for them to blatantly send you ones with them on, no.
Phone and tell them they've charged you more than they should have. If they won't refund you, then return them as pbartlett suggests and never darken their doorstep again. I think they are being really cheeky!
I'd also point out that they didn't stick the label on after the OP bought them. I suspect the opposite is true. They're taking advantage of it being the Euro's and are now selling them for more than the usual sticker price.
A bit silly to not pull the stickers off (although they're basically impossible to remove from cellophane) but not illegal. They offered a price, OP agreed to buy at that price.

Seems like the OP got a bargain.2 -
This is Sports Direct we’re talking about here. Hardly the most scrupulous of retailers....*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.202

I love the absolutely bonkers idea that they stuck the stickers on after ordering, but surely it’s obvious that’s not what happened!MalMonroe said:If it were me and they sent me shirts with 'sale' stickers on them I'd not be pleased at all. I love the even more bonkers idea that Mike Ashley would care that someone from MSE would "never darken [SD's] doorstep again".
He'll have to spend all night counting money to get to sleep!1
