Your insurance company won't allow or your bank won't allow the payment?

Ah right, other problems will be that you will have had insurance cancelled and also a default on your file.

Are you sure they are saying they will cancel your insurance?  Or are they saying they will cancel the credit agreement you have in place to pay for your insurance?

If your policy has run for the whole year then you will be expected to pay for it.  If the company knows you are in financial difficulty they may be trying to be helpful by getting you to cancel your DD on the off chance you will get hit with a fee if you bank bounces it back.

Or are they saying they will not allow you to renew the policy?  In which case you will need to find another provider (not necessarily a bad thing)

Ask them again to explain to you what they are doing and why.  Let us know and someone will hopefully have some good advice.

Talk to your bank.  Sometimes they can be very understanding as generally most of the people you talk to are reasonably human and have been through it all as well.
