Just do not pay!  I asked earlier in the thread if daughter had actually received a claim form (N1) from CCBC?  If not, you/your daughter are going through trial by letter, where they try to frighten you into paying without having to go to court.  It is cheaper for them.  If there is no claim form in play, you should send an e-mail in daughter's name to DCB stating that, whilst she denies any debt, your daughter is seeking debt advice and require them to put the case on hold for a minimum of 30 days.  This only works if there is no live claim.

My daughter is feeling traumatised by this

These companies take thousands of people to court each year.  Where we become involved they invariably lose as judges are aware of the scam.

In the grande scheme of things PPC claims are very small beer indeed.

What stage is this at?  Every stage is explained in the NEWBIES thread.

And please don’t miss the current Public Consultation,  Only open for 3 more weeks.

We are now (a new tactic)also getting people to complain to their MPs to ask questions of the MHCLG because there is a horrific (very obviously PPC-led) naive mistake in the proposed framework that will CAUSE court claims:

     https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/private-parking-charges-discount-rates-debt-collection-fees-and-appeals-charter-further-technical-consultation

We need to know you have done the Government Consultation and sent an email to your MP as explained here, please do:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/78515438#Comment_78515438

To be clear, we need individuals (you and your family and friends, separately) to do the consultation linked there AND we are now calling for everyone to ask their MPs to raise with the MHCLG, what the heck has gone wrong since March, that they now think it's OK for false debt recovery costs to be added that positively drive cases to court?

    What are the MHCLG thinking?

That added sum was supposed to end.  The Knight Act included MPs unanimously condemning charges as high as £120, but this proposal takes it up to £200 and FUNDS THE ROBOCLAIM RACE TO COURT

We want MPs to kick up a stink.  This MUST be stopped.

Don't ask for a template please, your own words are needed to the Consultation.

And then to raise awareness with your MP by email to ask the MHCLG what has to what has gone horribly wrong since March, by capping PCNs on the one hand then more than doubling them, rewarding PPCs for PCNs being 'lost in the post' and incentivising rogue practice and higher demands than the original discount that we will hardly ever see, if this goes ahead.

We will advise you further once you have done both, please.

She hasn't had any forms from CCBC.  Sorry to appear thick but what is DCB and also who becomes involved when the cases are overturned?

    Thanks

What do you mean when the cases are overturned?  A Judge at the county court.

You know who DCB Ltd are if they've been sending her letters, or are they not from them?

Did you go to the link I gave you about the Consultation?

We will advise further once you and your daughter have both done it in your own words and objected to the horrendous added 'admin costs' that has caused the MHCLG to go off on a PPC led tangent that will damage consumer confidence.

Tell us next week when you have done it and emailed your MP for help and to ask them to ask questions of the MHCLG to find out why they have U turned with this ludicrous proposal that allows higher demands!

DCB have not been sending letters.

The OP has however told us back in June...

Sorry, with so many cases to read, it is easy to get debt collectors mixed up, this is of course BW Legal.  At the moment then, there is no live claim in play.  Contact BW Legal with the "debt advice" line I mentioned in prior post.  That should give an extra 30 days to get straight and plan a strategy.
