new lawn mower blade is dull

Hi, I'm not sure it this is the right forum to post. I've bought a cordless lawn mower online. Received it today and used it straight away. But the blade is very dull, it barely cut the grass. I've tried to adjust the cutting height to see if it makes any difference which is not. I haven't contact the shop as they closed…

You said you used it straight away, does the battery have an indicator to show the remaining charge? If the battery is low it won't perform as well as when it is fully charged, the instructions will probably say to fully charge before first use too.
