What about something not as simple?fenwick458 said:
for something as simple as that I'd just get an electrician in, you'll struggle to get someone to sign it off unless they see every step of the installation and know you personally.to_be_FTB said:Thanks - for notifiable work (adding a shaver point in the bathroom and new lighting would fall under that?) can it be done by non qualified person and signed off by BC?
Does this mean that BC (or an appointed electrician) will sign off a big job without seeing "every step of the installation"?
be paying an electrician to inspect it first.
If you're paying the BC to do the signing off then any paperwork is their problem. That's why they charge extra for electrics. But they (or their electrician) can ask to inspect during the works if they want.If they insist on a certificate, download one from the IET web site and fill it in. After all, you shouldn't be doing the work yourself unless you're competent to do it.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Different LA's have their own prices. They sub it out to a sparks here, who checks it at 1st fix, then tests at 2nd. If you get it wrong for either extra visits cost more.0
