I've been to jobs where the "signing off of the wiring" has taken years ended up costing way more the the job would have cost in the first place to be done by a professional electrician.
so unless you know someone to sign it off first, don't do it yourself if you need it signed off later1 -
For England. Diy householder plumbing on potable mains water supplied from a water company, has always had legislation. diy house holder is allowed to exchange tap washers or cartridges.
Waste, soil drainage. Diy householder can periodically maintain-clean traps via dismantling/plunger and drain runs via drain rods.
Seen so many epic plumbing fails, floods,neighbourhood contamination, drains not draining are a popular fails

Periodic inspection and testing (which is not diy) is often ignored, bad idea

be paying an electrician to inspect it first.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
