Thanks Robbie. Didn’t know that. Do UC claimants receive them too? Odd that so many CA claimants report that they don’t.Robbie64 said:
A P60U is sent out even when all of the benefit is income related and not contributory. The P60U lists both overall benefit (ESA) paid and the taxable element of this amount, which when the benefit is wholly IR ESA will show £0.00.calcotti said:
Am surprised he would get a P60 for income based ESA as income based ESA is not taxable. Is some of the ESA contribution based?Lizzie444 said:Will ring them tomorrow and ask why I have not received a P60. A P60 is not actually a worthless piece of paper & is one you should keep for life. It can prove you have earned state pension credits. Of course if you believe the DWP never make an error then feel free to shred. If you are employed it can also prove you have made pension contributions as well as paid enough NI to earn contribution based benefits. It can prove you have paid even though your employer didn't pay them over to the DWP.

Anecdotally, I haven't had one for UC but did get one for ESA. (I assume receiving one for ESA means I would have had one for UC this year if I were supposed to.)0

Sorry but it this is one's only income and need to prove income for a particular year what else can one use? No payslips so no proof of anything. No one can tell from a bank statement who a payment is for. Happy to hear of an alternative if there is one.poppy12345 said:
