I figure that they must but have never seen one for the other half who has been getting carer's allowance for a few years now. Letters have been received about increases to the payments but nothing like a payslip or anything.
Sorry not really a tax question but I wasn't sure where else to plop this.

You don't have a "payslip" when claiming any benefits. Yes, you should have a P60 when claiming carers allowance. I had mine a couple of weeks ago.

I have been claiming Carers allowance for about 10 years now and I have never had a P600

DWP should issue a P60 with respect to any taxable benefits detailing the amount of taxable income received and any tax deducted. A full list of taxable benefits is available here:

Will ring them tomorrow and ask why I have not received a P60. My son is on income related ESA and he gets one every year.0

These are routinely sent to anyone receiving ESA. I think a similar one may be sent for people in receipt of JSA.Looking around the internet it appears to be hit and miss whether someone receving CA is sent a P60. There are enough posts at a number of threads at various message boards over the years where people are querying why they haven't received a P60 when getting Carer's Allowance.poppy - the P60 you were sent, what is the P60 series number? That is, is it a P60 or a P60U or something else?0

Am surprised he would get a P60 for income based ESA as income based ESA is not taxable. Is some of the ESA contribution based?Lizzie444 said:Will ring them tomorrow and ask why I have not received a P60. A P60U is sent out even when all of the benefit is income related and not contributory. The P60U lists both overall benefit (ESA) paid and the taxable element of this amount, which when the benefit is wholly IR ESA will show £0.00.calcotti said:

None of it is contribution based0

In normal years P60's can be as late as the end of May, this year i've seen a number of people ask why they haven't yet had theres, I'd wait a while before chasing it up, after all it's a worthless piece of paper.0
