PIP timescales

My husband received his PIP renewal form a few months ago. He had until June to post back but they were sent back in April. He has a confirmation text. Does it mean they will look at his award when they receive the forms or will they look ar the forms in June after the deadline date?
Also, are they now doing face to face assessments?
Many thanks for any help

There's no timescales how long the process will take, it depends on backlog in your area but there's large backlogs in most areas. Face to face assessments are starting back for some but mostly it's telephone assessments still. If an assessment is needed they will contact him.

They'll look at it now.  Can take a good while though. It's mostly phone assessment but some face to face.

  • Thank you both.
He gets standard for both but his disability has worsened significantly so we are expecting an assessment.

I sent my forms in March. I rang last week to chase up. They said it was with the assessors waiting for appointment for telephone assessment. They gave me the contact number for the company. I rang and managed to get a last min cancellation appointment which was last Thursday
    Thanks to all posters

Online? Face to face have started back up, so i heard but most are still having telephone assessments.
  • Thank you all.
My husband was looking at his medical records online to order medication and there is a note on there that a report has been asked for so looks like they are reviewing his PIP at the moment.

Sounds like it's been sent to the health assessment providers.
  • Does it mean he will need an assessment? We expect he will as he is on standard for both atm and his disability is significantly worse.

No way of knowing - but most do.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
