What I am trying to clarify now, and cannot get a straight answer on Chat as they send me to a Call This Number, which, when I do, says Use The App! is when the cashback takes effect.

Is it immediately, or, as the text seems to suggest, not until my next statement date which is 15 July!?

Was hoping to use if for car tax and insurance in the next two weeks, but looks like if I do it will be under the terms of my current (or previous) Platinum Visa card.

Do you know when your cashback took effect at all please?

The cashback does take effect from your next statement date, and at that point a replacement rewards card will be sent out to you. So you will still be a platinum card holder until your next statement.

Thanks @mab3000, finally got the same answer from Barclaycard Chat today.

Bit of a downer as I paid off my 0% balance early to benefit from some sizeable bills in next four weeks, only to find that cashback won't be active until AFTER I have paid them.

Ho hum. Interest loss on money used to settle balance early is a mere £1.75. Less than I spend on a Costa 😂
