Practical Driving Test. No dates available

  • I paid for driving test couple weeks ago, just clicked on the ''take a place'' button. Still waiting for an e-mail about test date. Probably everybody on the same boat. A driving instructor said that you may find an early date if you use the application but once you should get a date via e-mail.

What we found was that cancellations tended to be released in blocks.
To me, it was evident it was a staffing problem and they were released when someone was there to do it.
There was no set pattern to it at all, and if you didn't spot them being released you were screwed.
For something like £8 the app that did it all for us was an absolute bargain.

I'm not sure all are cancellations. Some are also when they can get an extra examiner at a particular test centre or book extra shifts.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

It all takes nifty action at the moment.

My daughter turned 17  5th December, found a theory test 3 hours away on the 10th December.

Booked practical for 17th February, saw the writing on the wall at end of December and decided to shift test.  Options for out of area in April but decided to wait until 7th May (first within area) and test resumed in Scotland on 6th April so we were very lucky.  Only 4 driving lessons (other than dad being quite hard on her) and years of driving around the house and fields.

OP either pay for the app or/and check a few times each day and try and figure out if they release your cancelations at any particular time of day.
