All you can do is keep looking until new dates or a cancellation become available.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Yep, you and thousands of others in the same position.
As the above poster said, all you can do is keep looking until new dates or a cancellation become available.

Probably something to do with this pandemic thing.

Thank you all for your replies.
  • Driving Test are very limited at the moment because of the pandemic all the people who previously had driving tests booked when COVID-19 hit, they would have been re-booked when they opened again and now with other people learning and wanting to take their test on top of that there is a back log in people trying to book in for their test. You just need to keep checking in case their is a cancellation or a slot becomes free at any point.

How many centres have you tried? You can go to ones outside your area but it may mean unfamiliar roads

There's a VERY good app you can buy that automatically looks for and books cancellations for you.

it's worth every penny, it got our daughter a cancellation for her first attempt really quickly.
Then when she failed her first attempt, it got her a second date really quickly too.
    Literally saved months.

Seconded about checking. A friend's son managed to get a short notice test booked about a week ago. Think it's a mixture of luck and possibly having his own car to do the test in.

There are currently 420,000 car tests in the backlog and the national average waiting time for a driving test is 17 weeks.

We know this will pose challenges for everyone in the coming weeks.

We’ll do all we can to reduce the backlog safely and as quickly as possible to help the driver training industry recover. We plan to do this by testing as many people as we can, as soon as we can.

The 'excuses' are all very well, but the cancellations are out there and the app I've recommended will find them for you automatically.
