Short term internet

Hi all. I'm moving into a house Monday, but broadband is not being connected until 22nd June. Any ideas on what I should do short term? I do mainly browsing but kids do quite a bit of streaming!

You could use your mobile phone as a hot spot and stop the kids from streaming . The world won't actually stop rotating if they can't stream for a whole week.

Well there is this amazing thing called "linear TV". ;)  And Freeview.  The kids could just watch that.  Or a DVD/Blu-Ray.  Or perfect the art of thumb twiddling - this is actually a competition in some countries.  Apparently.

Alternatively (as above) use a phone as a hotspot for a while.  Streaming like this unless you have a copious amount of data will get expensive..

I don't want to divulge why there is a lot of streaming but there is a genuine reason. I don't need people to be judgemental, but rather I was looking for a solution!

  • Buy something like one of these:

Get a pay as you go data SIM from whichever network has the strongest signal in your new house and the amount of data you expect to use.

Left it a bit late to organise using data if you don't have phones ready to use on PAYG or contract where you can add a suitable bundle.

Could try asking a new nextdoor if you can piggyback for a week might get lucky if they have a guest WiFi setup on their router.

Plenty of free WiFi in a lot of places so just go out.
