    Exactly. I could use this for a deposit (preferably around £30k) but that wouldn't be my whole budget. Ideally if I were to buy a house, it would be less than £150k, but I realise that limits my options at the moment!

    Plenty of homes around for £150k unless you want to live in London or some other popular area or you are fussy about what you want.

    In my experience, those homes are going very quickly here in Scotland and have a lot of competition so it's not easy.
