No worries :) No, I can't find photos online because I'm not putitng in the right search terms...I see them sometimes when you get shots of gardens in gardening programmes but maddeningly, they never say, Oh , this is Daisy On Acid...or whatever...

edited bit...I think I may have found them, I redoubled my search efforts narrowing down as I went and this is what I ended up with

Bellis Daisy.....Woop woop! Thank you for your help @goldfinches :)
I'm planning on getting those but Bellis Bellisima which allegedly flower in the autumn & then the following spring.

OP - have you thought about Chamomile or Blue Star Creeper?

Phlox is pretty very low growing carpet type flower.

I think phlox is lovely and comes in fantastic colour variants.

Thanks for all the suggestions - the bed was so overgrown I decided to rip everything out so these ideas will be useful!

While we're on the subject, does anyone know what the low growing flowers are that are brightly coloured, and look like miniature but much fluffier gerberas?

I wondered if you meant ice plants-taff in particular the harlequin mix, Bellis are a bit taller I think.
