Virgin BB + Moving House

Partner and I are due to move house in the next few weeks and I’m trying to work out what to do about our Virgin BB. Current Virgin BB is in my name and I’ve just gone past the end of the initial term (with Virgin doubling the monthly direct debit - thanks Virgin!). Usually I’d call their cancellations team and negotiate the cost back down but as we’re moving, I’m wondering if I’d be better off cancelling my existing contract entirely and then getting my partner to start a new contract for the new house in his name (hence he would be a new customer to Virgin) as the monthly cost would be significantly cheaper (and less than what I reckon I’d be able to negotiate the existing contract down to).
Would this work? And if so, is it possible to get Virgin to set up the new contract and connection to the new house for our move in day? We both work from home so NEED internet within a few days of moving in. Current owner of the new house has Virgin BB so I know there’s a connection there already.
Any advice greatly appreciated!

I don't think you'll know what to do until you've spoken to VM's moving home team and essentially haggled over a brand new contract. If the negotiations break down then you have the option of walking away without penalty, ready for your partner to sign up as a new customer at your new place. Before you speak to them though, find out what prices they offer new customers.0

Using an MSE link my partner can get Virgin BB for £19.84 a month “effective cost” (£24 a month with £75 Amazon voucher claim back). Cheapest I’ve ever got Virgin BB for has been around £27 a month I think, so a decent enough saving if my partner joins as a new customer.
Does anyone know how quickly Virgin BB can be installed at the new house? The current owner already has Virgin BB so Virgin website indicates it can be as quick as 4 days, but is that actually true I wonder.0 -

Work from home then you need a backup . Mobile dongle etc as you have no service level agreements on non business bb .
