Right to work/identity - NHS

I’m struggling to get together all the documents they have asked for, to prove my right to work and identity for the NHS.
I don’t have any photo ID at present, my passport expired and I’ve never renewed as never been on holiday since and I can’t drive due to a health condition.
I’ve got my birth certificate, letter with NI number on and various documents for proof of address.
They said I could get a passport sized photo signed instead but has to be by a individual in a certain profession and I know no one on that list.
They have told me to send what I have and they would speak to corporate HR to clarify the photo ID side of things.
I could potentially renew the passport but not sure if they would wait for that to arrive.
Surely they can accept mixtures of other documents if no photo ID is available? Never had this issue before.

Last time i renewed my passport is was pretty quick. Less than a week. How quickly do they need it?0

Are you a British Citizen? If you are then it should be irrelevant whether you passport has expired or not. Your British nationally can never expire and so your right to work in the UK can ever expire even if the date on your passport does.
However you may find that a jobsworth on the other end insists on a current passport and you may have to push to get it accepted.0 -
I mentioned the passport, They said because it expired more than 6 months ago they couldn’t accept it.I would be prepared to renew if they could keep the job offer on the table while I wait.0

They can accept it. They are just choosing not to. You have not stopped being a British Citizen.
You will need to play their game. Ask if they will wait a week or so while you renew the passport.0 -
Lots of solicitors will sign documents for a one off fee. It's annoying, but not worth losing a job over.0

Would you risk your job if you were instructed that the ID had to be valid and current ??moneysavinghero said:Are you a British Citizen? The point is, it says they have to have known you for two years.Ditzy_Mitzy said:Lots of solicitors will sign documents for a one off fee. It's annoying, but not worth losing a job over.1 -
And to think the government are refusing people the democratic right to vote if, like the OP, they don’t have any photo ID.Will the NHS accept a Citizen Card if you applied for one? Urgent applications can take 1 - 2 working days and cost £30, much cheaper than a passport.0

But that would not be inline with government advice of what is acceptable. It only needs to be a current non-expired passport if its a non GB passport.JamoLew said:
